We are excited to be back to share some of the best content we’ve come across - both new and old - that we think you should not miss this month.
As we have mentioned in the past, we are a work in progress, and this month we’re trying out a new format that features the content in their respective languages. If the content happens to be Spanglish, which we love, we will feature it in both sections.

A Border Drawn in Blood
Here is an episode of our history we don’t hear about often: The Perejil Massacre, ordered by Trujillo where an uncounted number of Haitians were senselessly murdered along the border. From NPR Latino USA’s site, “On the 80th anniversary of the Perejil Massacre, Latino USA travels to the Dominican-Haitian border to unpack the history of what happened—and what are the consequences today.”
We are big fans NPR Latino but this episode is quite special. We believe it is important to know our history, all of it, and it is encouraging to see journalism with altura covering this.

Afro-Latina Beauty Vloggers Talk About Identity
Afro-Latina has been, and continues to be, a controversial word for many. There is this stereotype of how a Latina should look that Afro-Latinas can’t, and shouldn’t, fulfill, so society and our cultures seem to still have a hard time accepting women with stronger African descent.
Thankfully, there are some beautiful and brave women out there changing the conversation and adding their much needed viewpoints on what it means to be Afro-Latina to them. We thoroughly enjoyed this piece by Teen Vogue and encourage you to read it and follow the women featured.

Estamos emocionadas de regresar con otra lista de contenido - tanto nuevo como viejo - que no te puedes perder este mes.
Como mencionamos anteriormente, no nos consideramos un proyecto terminado o perfecto y por eso que este mes estamos tratando un nuevo formato en el cual el contenido sólo aparece en el idioma en el que fué creado. Si resulta que el contenido es en Spanglish, lo cual nos encanta, lo pondremos en ambas secciones.

El cine dominicano está en su mejor momento, con un increíble crecimiento que nos ha traído nuevas caras, incluyendo a las maravillosas actrices Julietta Rodríguez, conocida por su papel en La Hija Natural, y Judith Rodríguez, quien este año nos deleitó como Yanelly en Carpinteros.
En esta entrevista para la revista Estilos, Judith y Julietta comentan sobre sus planes y proyectos, a la vez que tocan temas como el deseo de las mujeres de verse verdaderamente reflejadas en la pantalla grande. Un highlight de la entrevista es su posición en un tema relevante y pertinente para el cine y tantas otras industrias: El trato igualitario para las mujeres.

Con videos simples y encantadores, Vegana Dominicana está creando muy necesitada una librería de contenido para la comunidad vegana en la isla y para todx el que simplemente quiere reducir la cantidad de productos animales en sus dietas.
Lo que más nos gusta es su franqueza al hablar de los precios elevados que normalmente acompañan las opciones veganas y el poder que nosotrxs, como consumidores, tenemos para empujar a los supermercados y restaurantes a ofrecer más opciones veganas y a precios accesibles.
