No matter what we say in public, we love a good chisme.
I grew up in a town in the Dominican Republic where the local pastime was and is to know, comment and share what other people were doing and saying. Don’t get me wrong, I love my hometown and my culture, but I certainly don’t miss feeling like I was always being observed. There is just not much room for self-discovery that way, and no healthy way of living other than not be visible or live a ‘public’ life, which is not what everyone wants.
But who is saying that all chisme needs to be bad? Forget about the meaningless stuff other people are doing or saying. What are good pieces of content you CANNOT miss? What article, video or podcast is out that there that can make you feel things and even do better in life?
That is what we want El Chisme to be at hola, rita.
Every month we will share some news, articles, podcasts and/or videos we think you should know about. Whether it is career advice or how to promote creativity, to women sharing honest and stories we don’t see often, you will not want to miss the month’s Chisme.

Piera Gelardi is the Executive Creative Director and co-founder of Refinery29 - an award-winning digital media company - and a creative being I admire and, quite frankly, am obsessed with. I love her energy and her colorful outlook on life. Not only that, but she is an insanely successful entrepreneur and a passionate activist for women.
With witty, oddly creative and honest words she describes her experience and what got her out of the dark place that trying to conceive and experiencing a miscarriage can create for any woman.

SESSIONS Podcast: Always Be Building with Miki Reynolds of Grid110
Time is money, so for me anytime I am not working, reading or listening to something I consider it time lost. This is why I appreciate podcasts so much. Whenever I am cooking, cleaning or doing any other activity that does not require a lot of mental power I love to listen to podcasts, and almost exclusively oned that are led by and/or feature women.
This particular episode, featuring the Executive Director of Grid110 - a company that supports early-stage entrepreneurs through access to space, mentors, and resources in Downtown LA - was incredibly enjoyable and insightful. Mentioning advice that can sound generic, like ‘nurture relationships,’ Miki knows how to twist it in ways that are real and actionable.

No importa lo que digamos en público, a todos nos gusta un buen chisme.
Yo crecí en una ciudad de la República Dominicana donde el pasatiempo preferido de todo el mundo era y es saber, comentar y compartir todo lo que el otro hace o dice. No me malentiendas, le tengo un amor inmenso a mi ciudad corazón y mi cultura, pero la verdad es que no extraño sentirme siempre observada. Esa manera de vivir no permite mucho crecimiento personal ni una manera de vivir plena, a menos que te escondas y no vivas una vida ‘pública’, lo cual no es algo que todo el mundo quiere.
¿Pero quién dice que todo chisme siempre tiene que ser malo? Olvídate de todas las cosas sin significado que los demás están haciendo, ¿cuáles son las piezas que NO te puedes perder? ¿Cuál artículo, video o podcast que te puede hacer sentir cosas o hasta mejorar tu vida?
Eso es lo que queremos que El Chisme sea en hola, rita.
Todos los meses vamos a compartir noticias, artículos, podcasts y/o videos que creemos no te puedes perder. Ya sea consejos para avanzar tu carrera o cómo promover tu creatividad, hasta mujeres compartiendo experiencias y historias que no vemos todo el tiempo, no te vas a querer perder las ediciones de nuestro Chisme.

Abortos involuntarios. No es el más favorito de los temas durante un brunch con tus amigas, pero tan real y común como cualquier otra experiencia de vida.
Piera Gelardi es la Directora Creativa Ejecutiva y co-creadora de Refinery29 - una compañía de comunicaciones - y un ser creativo que admiro muchísimo que, para serte honesta, hasta sigo de manera un poco intensa. Me encanta su energía y su manera tan colorida de ver el mundo. No solo eso, pero ella es sin duda una emprendedora súper exitosa y una activista siempre luchando por nosotras las mujeres.
Con letras llenas de carisma, diseño creativo y honestas palabras ella detalla su experiencia de perder un bebé y todo lo que la ayudó a sobrevivir el dolor que genera para cualquier mujer el querer concebir y experimentar tan enorme pérdida.

SESIONES Podcast: Siempre Mantente Construyendo con Miki Reynolds de Grid110
El tiempo es dinero y para mí cada momento en el que no estoy trabajando y leyendo o escuchando algo de lo que puedo aprender lo considero tiempo perdido. Por eso es que amo tanto los podcasts. Cada vez que estoy cocinando, limpiando o haciendo cualquier otra cosa que no requiera mucho pensar me fascina escucharlos y casi de manera exclusiva los que son manejados por e invitan mujeres.
Este episodio en especial, con la Directora Ejecutiva de Grid110 - una compañía que apoya emprendedores en sus primeras etapas con acceso a espacios para trabajar, mentores y recursos en el área de Downtown de Los Ángeles - es super chévere. Mencionando consejos super comunes como ‘mantén buenas relaciones’, ella sabe cómo agregarles toques personales que los hacen relevantes y accionables.
