Women of color are still made to be objects of desire by mainstream media, so sex positive people and content creators of color are revolutionary not just for putting their sexuality out there, but for encouraging women to do the same as well. These 5 instagrammers are making it easier for women to be more sex positive, and we love it too much not to share them with you.

Aimee is a trans women and a fellow Dominicana, fighting transphobia and misogyny using instagram as her platform to do so. She is constantly discussing sex positivity not only for the transgender community but for cis women as well. Her IGTV is a must see - in it she discusses everything from negative encounters with men to the importance of being confident with one’s body.

Ev’Yan Whitney believes that “sexuality is mindfulness” and she trusts that sensuality provides women permission to feel good and to love themselves. She created the #sensualselfiechallenge hashtag for women to celebrate their body and promote self-confidence.

Quite possibly the dopest Afro-Dominican twins around! Dr. Griselda Rodriguez-Solomon is a professor of sociology with an emphasis on gender studies while her sister Dr. Miguelina Rodriguez majored in Public Policy. They have dedicated their lives and work to help women to explore their sexuality, as well as working to heal traumas and promote self-empowerment by loving and taking care of their Yonis (aka the vagina).

Su hermana Miguelina Rodríguez se especializó en política pública. Ellas han dedicado sus vidas y profesiones para ayudar a las mujeres explorar su sexualidad así como también ayudar a curar traumas y promover el empoderamiento de la mujer a través del cuidado de sus Yonis (vaginas).
Dalychia & Rafaella - @afrosexology
Afrosexology is a dope instagram created by Dalychia and Rafaella Smith Fiallo. Their aim is for black people (and of course that includes Afro-Latinxs) to take their sexualty in their own hands in a society that over sexualizes black bodies. Their instagram feed is full of beautiful art showcasing black bodies being sexually free. They also post quotes followed by super honest captions written by the founders; they are most definitely conversation starters. You gotta check them out!

El objetivo de ellas es que la gente negra (y obvio lxs Afro-Latinxs) cogan su sexualidad en su propias manos en una sociedad que sobre sexualisa los cuerpos de la gente negra. Su instagram esta lleno de arte bellísimo exhibiendo cuerpos de gente negra siendo sexualmente libres. Ellas también publican citas sinceras seguido por escrituras del tema que definitivamente fomentan conversaciones super interesantes. ¡Tienen que definitivamente chequearlas!

Shan Boodram is a very well known sexologist featured in The New York Times and CNN. Her ethnicity is always a hot topic - she is black, Indian and caucasian. She is the author of the book “LAID” and her instagram is one to follow for all things sex, relationships and educational tips for having a safer sex life.

Lorena is currently a Media and Communications major at Montclair State University and resides in New Jersey. She was born in Santo Domingo but moved to the states at the age of twelve. She is a passionate womanist and has an addiction to history documentaries. She was a former production intern for Malka Media and assisted as a PA in shoots for big brands like L’Oreal and others. / Lorena actualmente se especializa en Medios y Comunicaciones en Montclair State University y reside en Nueva Jersey.
